Sandberg Eliminator Gaming MouseNow it's time for a new review. This time I take a look at a new mouse from Sandberg called Eliminator. It's a mouse in their EsportsEquipment series, so there are great expectations for the mouse.
Sandberg EsportsEquipment, is a collection of products special designed for gaming. These are products with fancy colors and many configuration options, just as we know it from other gaming products. Also RGB is finding its way to Sandberg EsportsEquipment.
Technical specifications: There is an entire 6 buttons you can use, and with a life-span of no less than 5 million clicks. There should be many hours of gaming in this mouse for even the most hardcore gamer.

The mouse comes in a nice package with fine illustrations on the outside. There are pictures of the mouse, and various technical specifications listed.
When you open the box you are greeted by a tough looking soldier. You can also see the mouse behind some transparent plastic. You can clearly see and get a feeling of what product you bought before you unpack it.
When you have taken it all out of the box, you have the mouse and a few stickers. That's what you get in the package.
Let's look at the mouse:
The mouse has some cool decorations all around. So far it appears that it will look nice when it is connected, and there comes light in it. I will show that in a little later in the article. At the top of the mouse is a scroll button and a DPI button. The mouse has four different DPI settings, so they should cover most needs for different users.
The mouse is with soft touch surface. It is nice to touch, and the hand is comfortably placed on top of the mouse. On the back of the mouse there is a Sandberg logo that lights up. We will see that later. The mouse has a very comfortable size for a FPS mouse and the buttons sits as they should on the top of the mouse.
On the left side of the mouse is the thumb buttons. It is the only buttons that are on this mouse other than those at the top. The thumb buttons are correctly placed, I can easily reach them both with normal palm grip on the mouse.
The right side of the mouse does not have any buttons. But the characteristic pattern is repeated on this side. I'm sure this mouse looks cool when there is light in it. The sides of the mouse is not with the soft touch surface, but plastic with a rough surface. That means that you have a good grip on the mouse even when you have to lift it to correct the placing during gaming.
The entire bottom of the mouse is a big heavy steel base, it gives a good indication of durability and quality. There are 4 large sliding pads, the mouse slides easily over most surfaces.
Sandberg takes achance, and moves away from the standard black fabric cable. They found a cable that is combined black and blue, which actually looks pretty cool. At the end of the cable is a big gold plated USB connector, so you are sure of a good connection every time you connect the mouse.
The light: Have I referred to the light in the mouse a few times, and you should not be cheated from seeing that. As you can see, the light is in different colors throughout the mouse.
The light is not too bright in any way, but sufficiently subdued and actually looks really cool when the mouse is on the table.
The light glows in different colors and change them very slowly, and it's not the same color all the way around. It can be blue one place on the mouse, and green on another place. As you can see in the picture below it is beginning to be blue on the right mouse button while it's green on the rest of the mouse. It's very random, and actually looks pretty cool.
My opinion: Gaming and daily use: I've used the mouse the last week, and it has been for both gaming and daily use as surfing the Web as well as editing images and articles. There are four DPI settings, and I feel and see a clear difference between them. I know there are many who play at 800 DPI when it comes to FPS games, so it's fine it's the lowest setting on the mouse. If you have to move around on the desktop a higher DPI is probably better. That is certainly my experience. Ergonomics: The mouse is really good to grab, and you have a good grip on it thanks to the rough plastic sides. The buttons are arranged as they should, so there is no trouble hitting them at any time. The scroll button works well and fast with rubber coating, so you can quickly switch weapons, or scroll up and down on websites. The size: The mouse has a comfortable size for my hands. It's pretty big, so it is maybe not designed for children's hands, but again kids nowadays are having large hands and feet at a rather young age. The light: The light is actually pretty cool in regarding the changing colors and so on. I might would have liked that you could switch to solid colors, and possibly turn off the light. In this way you would be able to customize your mouse to the light setup you might have on the rest of your system. But it certainly looks awesome as it is.
My rating: Sandberg is getting better and better, in making some cool products for the gaming section. They are unfortunately not in goal when it comes to the small things, but they are well on the way. A Sandberg Eliminator mouse is suitable for the new or less demanding gamer. It can easily be used for gaming in every game, but it lacks the final details and specifications. Among the missing things is a number of technical specifications about the sensor that is used in the mouse, how quick the response time and pollingraten is and also what contacts are used on the buttons and so on. If you want a mouse that can be adapted to the color setup you have on your system, then the Sandberg Eliminator is unfortunately not the best choice. You can not choose the colors of the light in any way, nor turn it off. It could have been a nice feature to have, and you know that the LEDs can light all colors in allready. That being said, you get the mouse for just under 200 DKK retail price. You get an awesome mouse that feels really great in the hand. It looks great with the color change and light details on the outside, and it feels sturdy and durable. It is a good product with a full 5 year warranty. My rating of the mouse is a beautiful shiny SILVER star rating. You get a great mouse at the right price. But when you turn to the gamer segment, it is also important to have the technical details in place. Which unfortunately is not the case with the Sandberg Eliminator mouse.
